The Scientific Interest Group STIMUL came together out of the common desire to see an improvement in the quality of three essential partners in the maize (corn) sector: the Groupe Coopératif Maïsadour, Syngenta Seeds and Maïsadour Semences.
STIMUL's vocation is to develop new expertise which will help to improve the seed quality of corn, one of the main foodstuffs consumed worldwide. The Group's main focuses of study are:
developing quality expertise on Fusarium and associated toxins;
work on agronomy and animal production science:
selection
agro-environmental
factors
drying and
storing seeds
toxicity
study on ducks
In addition to the variety selection studies undertaken by Maïsadour Semences, the problem of Fusarium was studied for the entire chain, from the field to the table.
